Tuesday Campus Tour:

Green Labs: The Next Generation – Johns Hopkins University Lab Tour
Originally targeting LEED Silver, the new Undergraduate Teaching Lab (UTL) is hoping to earn LEED Gold, Michael Phelps style. Hop aboard a compressed natural gas-fueled Blue Jay Shuttle and make your way to the Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus. When designing this state-of-the-art facility, the primary focus every step of the way was efficiency. Through energy wheels that recover heat and moisture from exhaust air, sophisticated chilled beam infrastructure, high-efficiency fume hoods, the building is projected to use 40% less energy than a similar code-compliant laboratory building. The glazed north facade will provide views of the Bufano Gardens hillside – where landscaping was designed to help filter storm water runoff - and allow maximum daylight to enter the labs. Join JHU sustainability staff as they show you the next generation of green labs.

Tuesday, March 4th, 4:30pm
Shuttle departs Hyatt Regency Hotel at 4:30pm. Tour will run from 5:00 – 6:00pm and then the shuttle will return you to the hotel.

The National Aquarium: Conservation in Practice

Find out about the creative ways they minimize their environmental impact, conserve natural resources, reduce waste, and build health communities.
