The Wilderness Society (TWS), is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to protect wilderness and inspire Americans to care for U.S’wild places.  TWS believes public lands belong to and should benefit all of us. The organization and work must embody the cultures and perspectives of people and communities across the nation, and connect and inspire people to care about the outdoors.

Unless otherwise noted, all internships are unpaid. The internship positions currently available at TWS include:

Government Relations- Washington, DC
The Government Relations team at The Wilderness Society (TWS) is seeking highly motivated students and postgraduates to join TWS for their seasonal internship sessions. This team is dedicated and passionate about protecting wild places across the US and they advance these priorities through focused advocacy on Capitol Hill and outreach to government agencies.

Communications & Social Media Intern- Washington, DC
Students looking to burnish their public relations, writing and journalism skills will find the TWS Communications Department to be a fast-paced, high-energy place where they can learn about the environmental community and how TWS works to protect the country’s most important public lands and natural resources.  These interns roll up their sleeves to research critical environmental issues, craft press releases, author editorials and pitch both bloggers and traditional journalists. Additionally, TWS seek interns who can shoot, edit and promote social media video content.
