Campus Creek Restoration

Facilities Management

Facilities Management has been working with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources to restore the quality and stability of Campus Creek. The $50,000 grant will contribute toward the design costs for the project. The expected outcome is a more stable stream system with reduced storm flows, improved water quality, and improved aquatic habitat, all of which are beneficial to the environment and can also provide research opportunities for the University of Maryland community. The restoration is expected to be self-sustaining, with no foreseeable maintenance, although periodic inspections can be performed to ensure long-term stream stability.
